(10/28) The TCU men's and women's cross country teams will become the
first-ever Horned Frog sports programs to compete at the WAC Championship
events when they run in the 1996 WAC Cross Country Championships in Dallas
this Saturday.
TCU's men, projected for an upper-division placing in Dallas, are led by
freshman David Lagat and senior Cain Williams. Though altitude, conditions
and course difficulty all weigh heavily in the athletes' best times, Lagat,
a product of Eldret, Kenya, enters Saturday's meet with the WAC's
fastest clocking of the fall - his 24:49 effort over Texas A&M's 8-kilometer
layout on October 12. TCU's women are also led by a freshman - Marci
Madsen of Bonanza, Oregon.
(10/19) The TCU men's cross country team finished 5th at the UTA Five-Way Meet. Cain Williams finished 3rd overall with a 19:52.
(10/19) The TCU women's cross country team finished 5th at the UTA Five-Way Meet. Marci Madsen had the best time for the Frogs (11:27), fifth overall.
(10/12) The TCU men's cross country team finished in 2nd place at the Texas A&M Invitational. David Lagat finished first (24.49), while Cain Williams finished in 4th (25:10).
(10/08) TCU Freshman David Lagat of Eldoret,Kenya has been selected as the WAC cross country athlete of the week. His time of 25:20 at the North Texas Invitational is the fastest time by a WAC runner this season.
(10/04) The TCU men's cross country team finished second at the University of North Texas Cross Country Invitational in Denton. David Lagat finished 4th with a 25:20; Cain Williams was 5th with a 25:24. The TCU women finished 8th; Marci Madsen had the best time for the Frogs with a 18:14 (16th).
(9/09) The TCU men's and women's cross country teams won the UTA Season Opener Meet. Cain Williams (20:28) led the men (4 miles); Marci Madsen (11:29) led the women (2 miles).
