
Now in his third decade, Tut Bartzen has led the TCU tennis program from obscurity to national prominence. Since 1977, his Horned Frogs have been ranked in the top 20 every year, with the exception of 1984.
He entered the 1995-96 season with an amazing 421-153 overall record.
Last season, the Frogs won their second straight SWC Championships, and advanced
into the NCAA Championships for the 5th consecutive year.

While a player at the College of William & Mary, Bartzen was undefeated as a collegian. He twice led the Indians to the NCAA team championships, and won the 1948 NCAA doubles title.
Later Bartzen was a member and assistant playing captain of the US Davis Cup team in 1959. He also won the National Clay Court title an impressive four times.
