of the ITA Rolex Southwest Regional Championships.
- (11/10) The TCU men's golf team was able to hold off a final round charge
by Wake Forest to win the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Intercollegiate. TCU defeated
Wake Forest by 4 strokes, shooting 291, for an aggegrate score of 851 (-13).
Strong performances were given by Alberto Ochoa and Sal Spallone, who finihsed
tied for second individually at 6-under, and J.J. Henry, who also finished
under par, with a total of 215. This victory over a number of Top 20 teams
establishes the Horned Frogs as one of the teams to beat in college golf.
"Now we know we can win, and we'll have more confidence," says Ochoa.

the semifinals of the Rolex Intercollegiate Southwest Regional
Tennis Championships. Fisher d. Efe Ustundag of Rice, 7-5, 6-2,
and Weir-Smith d. Daniel Pahlsson of Arkansas, 6-4, 6-0.
- (11/09) The VolleyFrogs were defeated by Utah, 15-1, 15-4, 15-7.
- (11/09) The TCU men's golf team shot a 282 (-6) to take a 15 shot lead
after the second round of the Palmetto Dunes Collegiate at Hilton Head, SC.
TCU was the only team to improve their performance in the 2nd round, as
dropping temperatures and cold winds made for less than ideal conditions.
Brent Wolf and Sal Spallone led the way with rounds of 69. TCU, which has
had early-round leads in the past, is poised to win its first major
college event. "We've been in this position before," said Coach Bill
Montigel. "We've just haven't done it." Spallone is in 4th overall with
a 139; Alberto Ochoa and Brent Wolf are tied for 5th at 140; J.J. Henry
is in 10th at 141.
- (11/09) TCU rallies late to defeat Tulsa, 31-24.
- (11/08) The TCU men's golf team has a five shot lead after the first round of the Golf World-
Palmetto Dunes Collegiate at Hilton Head, South Carolina. A two hour rain
delay made conditions good for scoring. The Frogs 278 (-10) leads Oklahoma
State by five strokes. J.J. Henry shot a 68 (-4) and is tied for 3rd, five
shots behind SMU's Hank Kuehne who fired a course record 63. Alberto Ochoa
is tied for fifth after a 69 (-3). "We played smart golf," said TCU coach
Bill Montigel. "And when we missed greens, we were able to get up and
down."
- (11/08) The TCU men's golf team is ranked #4 in the latest Rolex Ratings.
- (11/08) TCU's Jason Wier-Smith advanced from the first round by defeating
Sasha Silver of Rice, 6-2, 6-2. He then advanced to the third round with
a win over Dustin Mauck 6-3, 6-3; Ashley Fisher also advanced to the
third round with victories over Miguel Perez of NLU, 6-0, 6-4, and Tom
Hamilton of Arkansas, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. Ashley Fisher and Jason Weir-Smith
advanced to the second round of doubles with a win over Gonzalo Anderson
and Jean Aramburo of A&M, 6-0, 6-2.
- (11/08) The VolleyFrogs were defeated by BYU, 6-15, 6-15, 7-15.
- (11/07) The TCU men's basketball team will be playing the Townsville
(Australia) Suns in exhibition basketball next Tuesday at 7:05pm. Earlier schedules
had listed the opponent as the "Australian National Team."
- (11/06) TCU defeated the Conoco Oilers 125-89 in the first
exhibition game Wednesday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
Malcolm Johnson scored 27 points, connecting on 12 of 20 shots from
the field to lead all scorers. Jeff Jacobs contributed 22 points, including
6 three pointers. Conoco was led by former Tulsa standout, and Dallas
native Dewayne Bonner's 20 points.
- (11/05) Sr. Forward Sarah Suess was selected to the first team all-WAC
Mountain Division Women's Soccer Team. Jr. Forward Rachel Migliore
was selected to the second team.

is 13th in goals (0.5); Allison Calleri is 10th in assists (0.39);
Courtney Petrie is 14th in goalkeeping.
- (11/05) The TCU men's soccer team invites all area youth to their
final game of the season, this Sunday at 3pm vs SMU. All youth soccer
players and other youngsters are encouraged to attend and wear their
soccer team jerseys.

has been changed. TCU will now face Spartak, a traveling
squad from Moscow, on Nov. 16th.

137-105 at the Dual Meet held at TCU. Adrian Velasquez won the
50-meter freestyle (21.42). Jason Flint finished first in the 200
meter breaststroke (2:04.68); The TCU 400 medley relay team and
the 400 freestyle relay team also finished first.

WAC Championships. The TCU women's team finished 14th.
