#34 Saipele Tuialii
1995-96.... Tuialii was action in 25 contests and saw starting duty at forward in three outings (vs. Ohio, at SMU and at Texas Tech). He suffered a broken ankle against Rice and was forced to miss the final four games of the season. A steady contributor, posted season averages of 3.2 ppg. and 3.4 rpg., while his 16 blocks was fourth-highest among Horned Frogs. His 11-point outburst at SMU along with his 8 rebounds against Alaska-Anchorage were season high water marks. He recorded three blocked shots against both Montana State as well as Texas A&M. JUNIOR COLLEGE .... En route to earning Southern California Conference Co MVP honors during the 1994-95 season, Tuialii averaged 14.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, to go with 2.5 assists. A two-time first-team all-conference selection, Tuialii was a two-year starter for Los Angeles City College and led that program to a two-year mark of 60 wins against just eight losses. He was coached at Los Angeles City College by Mike Miller. PERSONAL .... Nicknamed "Sai", Saipele Robert Tuialii is the son of Mrs. and Mrs. Saipele Tuialii of South Gate, California. Born March 3, 1975 in Bellflower, Calif., Tuialii is the father of two children - a son, Tyus, and a daughter, Elizabeth. Tuialii is a criminal justice major at TCU.
