1995-96.... Barrett elected to redshirt as a true freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL .... As a senior at Bryan High, Barrett (one of the top high school players in Texas, according to Texas Hoops) led the Vikings in both scoring and rebounding during the 1994-95 campaign, averaging 15.8 on 64.4 percent field goal shooting and 8.0 boards. As a junior in 1993-94, he posted 12.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per outing. He received numerous post-season honors during his prep career, including twice being named to the all-city and all-district teams, in addition to his being named a member of the 1994-95 all-region first team, plus his being recognized as a second team all-state selection. Barrett, who signed with the Horned Frogs during the 1994-95 early signing period, was coached at Bryan High by Barry Davis and Tim Martin.
PERSONAL .... A standout scholar-athlete, Scott Ashley Barrett was named as a Brazos Valley Scholar while at Bryan High. Born March 2, 1975, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Barrett of Bryan. Barrett will be an arts and sciences pre-major at TCU.
