· NATION'S SECOND-HIGHEST SCORING FRESHMAN (20.5 PPG.)
· BASKETBALL WEEKLY FIRST-TEAM ALL-FRESHMAN SELECTION
· SWC CONSENSUS FRESHMAN/NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
· HOLDS THE ALL-TIME TCU/SWC FRESHMAN SCORING RECORD

1995-96 ... One of the nation's elite freshman a year ago, Walker earned Basketball Weekly first-team all-freshman honors, was picked seventh among College Sports Top-30 freshmen, and was selected as the Consensus Southwest Conference Freshman and Newcomer of the Year. His 30-game average of 20.5 points per contest put Walker second among the nation's freshman scorers (trailing only Cal's Shareef Abdur Raheem, 21.1 ppg.), and, his 8.8 rebound-per-game average trailed only North Carolina's Antawn Jamison (9.8 rpg.) and Northern Illinois' T.J. Lux (9.0 rpg.) in freshman rebounding. The Dallas Lincoln HS product walked away with both the SWC, as well as the TCU freshman scoring records, leading the Horned Frogs in both scoring and rebounding categories.

Perhaps his most remarkable performance came against Texas Tech, where, after being held scoreless through the first half, he erupted for 25 second half points, connecting on 11 of 15 second half field goal attempts.

Walker, who posted double-figure scoring totals in all but three games over the season, recorded 20+ point scoring outings on 18 occasions, including a career-high effort of 35 points (vs. Montana State) and 31 points against Middle Tennessee. He also grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds against Southeastern Louisiana and registered three games of 15+ rebounds along with 12 doubles-doubles.

HIGH SCHOOL .... A TABC first team Class 4A all-everything selection, Walker tallied 25.0 points and grabbed 13.5 rebounds per contest during the 1994-95 season to help lead the Knights to a 29-3 record and their third consecutive District 10-4A championship. Selected as both a McDonald's, as well as a Converse High School All-American, Walker scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds during the East West All-Star game played April 22, 1995 at Kansas' Alien Fieldhouse. The 1993 94 District 10-4A Player of the Year, Walker averaged 20 points, 13 boards per outing enroute to a 33-3 overall ledger. Over his four-year prep career, Walker played on Lincoln teams which compiled a four-year won-lost record of 122-19. His coaches while at Lincoln HS were Richard Bacon (1993,'94) and Robert Alien (1995).

PERSONAL .... The son of Ms. Dorothy Faye Walker of Dallas, Texas Damion J. Walker was born December 9, 1976 in Dallas. A National Honor Society member while at Lincoln HS, he is an arts and sciences pre-major at TCU.
