TCU trailed, 78-73, after a pair of free throws by Boston standout Tunji Awojobi with 1:35 left. Then Johnson went to work. He buried a three from the top of the key with 1:22 showing on the clock, and another from the right wing to pull the Frogs within one at 80-79, with 56 seconds to go.

Damion Walker then swiped away a defensive rebound to set the stage for Johnson's winning basket. After calling timeout with 5.9 seconds remaining, the Terriers tried to set up a final shot, but point guard LeVar Folk was hounded into throwing up a wild shot at the buzzer.

Awojobi led all scorers with his 26 points, while Johnson (23 pts) and James Penny (23 pts, 12 rebs) topped the Horned Frogs.
