1995-96..... One of four Horned Frogs to see action in all 30 contests a year ago, Burks drew starting duty at the point in 20 games. While averaging 20.3 minutes per outing, he posted averages of 4.1 assists, 9.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. His assist mark was second-highest on the squad, while his 124 dishes also stood as the team's second-highest total. Burks was instrumental in TCU's 91-89 victory at Texas A&M on November 26, as he enjoyed a season-high scoring effort (23 points). He also nailed four-of-five three-point attempts against the Aggies, while his season-high three-point outing was six against Montana State. A.B. stood second among Horned Frog steal leaders with 31 steals, a total which includes a TCU record-tying seven against Southeastern Louisiana. Burks hit 75.2 percent from the line last season, including such outings as his 15-of-18 performance against SMU and canning 9-of-10 against Alaska-Anchorage.

JUNIOR COLLEGE .... While at Grayson College, Burks played both the point and shooting guard positions. During the 1994-95 campaign, he earned first team all-conference honors after leading the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference in scoring, tallying 26.4 ppg, and was ranked fourth in assists with 5.8 dishes per contest (his final point total ranked among the national juco leaders). While at Grayson, Burks was coached by Tim Williams.

WHILE AT TEXAS A&M .... Burks initially signed, and spent the 1993-94 basketball season, with Texas A&M. While with the Aggies, Burks saw limited playing time, averaging 1.8 minutes, 0.7 points and 0.2 boards over six contests. Ironically, his only field goal and rebound of the season came against the Horned Frogs, in Fort Worth.

HIGH SCHOOL .... In 1992-93, Burks helped lead Fort Worth Dunbar High School to the Class 5A state championship and a 35-4 overall record. During that senior season, he averaged 18.1 points, 9.1 assists and 3.0 steals per game. Burks was named to the all-tournament team at the state Final Four, garnered three inseason all-tournament teams, as well as first-team all-region, area, district and county accolades. The valedictorian of his senior class, Burks was coached at Dunbar by Robert Hughes.

PERSONAL .... Anthony George Burks is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Burks of Fort Worth, and was born April 18, 1975 in Arlington. Burks is majoring in business management while at TCU.
