Chris Fuamata-Ma'Afala scored on runs of 70 and 52 yards in the second half to lead 24th-ranked Utah to a 21-7 victory over Texas Christian in the first-ever meeting between the Western Athletic Conference schools.
It was the sixth straight win for Utah (6-1, 3-0 WAC Mountain Division) after a season-opening loss to Utah State.
TCU (2-4, 1-2 Mountain) was coming off its first-ever WAC win, an 18-0 victory over Texas-El Paso last week.
Mike Fouts hit Kevin Dyson with a 41-yard touchdown pass 4:48 into the game to give Utah a 7-0 lead.
TCU tied the game when Fred Taylor connected with Mike Brown on a 12-yard scoring play with 1:32 left in the first quarter.
Fuamata-Ma'Afala's 70-yard touchdown run snapped the 7-7 tie with 4:37 left in the third quarter. He sealed the game with a 52-yard scoring run with 2:08 remaining in the fourth quarter.
