Donald Sellers passed for a touchdown and ran for another and Lennox Gordon rushed for 111 yards as New Mexico defeated Texas Chritian, 27-7, in the Western Athletic Conference.
Sellers' 15-yard touchdown run 4:54 into the game and Gordon's scoring run from a yard out with 6:23 left in the first quarter staked the Lobos (4-1, 1-1 WAC) to a 14-0 lead.
Gordon rushed 24 times, Sellers ran for 85 yards on 20 carries and Che' Johnson ran for 42 yards on seven carries as New Mexico controlled the clock for 36:40.
The Lobos increased their lead to 24-0 as Colby Cason kicked a 30-yard field goal 2:14 into the second quarter and Sellers threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Chris Shelton with 8:28 left in the half.
Sellers completed 11-of-15 passes for 247 yards without an interception. Larry Brown caught six passes for 127 yards.
TCU (1-2, 0-1) scored its only points with 42 seconds left in the first half as Jeff Dover found John Washington with a three-yard touchdown pass. Dover completed 20-of-39 passes for 252 yards with two interceptions.
Cason capped the scoring with a 24-yard boot with 36 seconds left in the third quarter.
