FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - June Henley sloshed through intermittent rain for 201 yards and four touchdowns Saturday night as No. 24 Kansas pounded longtime non-conference rival Texas Christian 52-17.

Picking up where he left off in the Jayhawks' season opener, Henley scored on runs of 10, 2 and 3 yards to stake Kansas (2-0) to a 28-10 halftime lead over the butter-fingered Horned Frogs (1-1), who had six turnovers.

He added a school record-tying fourth touchdown on a 24-yard run in an explosive third quarter that included a 17-yard scoring pass from Matt Johner to Isaac Byrd after a fumble recovery by Jason Harris at the Horned Frogs 17.

Harris also picked off a pass by Jeff Dover in the final quarter, another in a long night of miscues by TCU, which didn't commit a turnover in a stunning 20-7 victory over Oklahoma last week.

After two unsuccessful long-range field goal attempts, Jeff McCord kicked a 34-yarder in the third-quarter uprising that left Kansas in command at 45-17. At that point, coach Glen Mason pulled Henley and Johner.

Despite the lopsided outcome, the Horned Frogs were within striking distance early in the third period. After a 13-yard Kansas punt, the Frogs scored on a 16-yard pass from Dover to tailback Basil Mitchell.

That left TCU trailing 28-17. Then the bottom fell out.

Henley collected his 201 yards on 30 carries, marking the 10th time he has gained 100 yards or more.

He rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-10 season opening victory over Ball State and, with a career total now at 2,880 yards, is closing in on the school record of 3,788 yards by Tony Sands.

The 5-foot-11, 215-pound senior has already passed Kansas stars Gale Sayers and John Riggins in career rushing and he is the touchdown leader with 32.

The Jayhawks wasted no time taking control of the game. Johner hit passes of 11, 16, 11 and 7 yards as Kansas rolled 60 yards in 10 plays to score on its first possession.

Despite two turnovers, TCU came back to tie it up on a 59-yard run by John Williams in the second period. But Henley quickly took off on a 42-yard run that set up his 2-yard touchdown plunge and the Jayhawks were ahead for keeps.

Eric Galbreath sped 33 yards for another Kansas touchdown and Henley got his third of the first half with 28 seconds remaining.
