The 33-year-old Robinson came to Frogland from Utah State where he served during the 1992 and 1993 campaigns. Prior to Utah State, Rohinson spent two seasons at his alma mater (Troy State, AL) as an assistant, and then one campaign at Arkansas (1991).

Considered an excellent recruiter, Robinson, was the team captain on the 1984 Division II national championship team at Troy State en route to all-Gulf South Conference first-team honors. Robinson had been a do-everything, four-sport athlete at Phenix City (Ala.) Central High School before entering Troy State. After college, Robinson pursued professional football for a year before breaking into the coaching ranks at the high school level -- Woodham in Pensacola, Florida (1986), and Central High of Phenix City (1988).
Robinson earned his B.S. degree in psychology from Troy State in 1985.
