Handling the duties of Texas Christian University's head strength and conditioning coach for the third consecutive year, the hard-working Martin has rarely slowed down his pace since being appointed. Martin had operated as an interim in that same capacity from January until late March of 1993 and departmental administrators were so impressed with his efforts he became an overwhelming choice to fill the important spot on a full-time basis.
The 31-year-old Martin had played his collegiate football at Alabama (1983-'84-'85) and Samford (1986-88), plus he logged football graduate assistantships with Alabama (1988-89) and Auburn (1990-91) prior to his one season as a grad assis tant coach with the Horned Frogs in 1992.
Martin also had previously assisted with the weight training programs at Auburn during his tour at that Southeastern Conference institution.
A native of Blountsville, Alabama, Martin earned his B.A. in history from the University of Alabama in 1988.
Martin is married to former Corinne Sanders of Dallas, and they are the parents of a daughter Jane Elizabeth.
