Texas A&M

Sullivan said (about the Georgia job), "I haven't heard from them. I haven't applied for anything. I'm not going through something like what I went through last year."

"I've heard nothing from Vince Dooley (Georgia Athletic Director), nothing from Georgia," said Frank Windegger.

"He was in our hearts, it wasn't a distraction, it was motivation," said Rick LaFavers about Matt Moore's injury. "I wouldn't say it had a direct impact on the outcome, but it's obvious it was in the back of your mind," said Sullivan. "I thought about it a lot last night," said Ryan Tucker. "It was a big distraction."

"To go out like this, it really hurts. It stinks," said Max Knake.

About the season, Sullivan said, "It's a successful season. Something took place that hadn't been done in (36) years (back-to-back winning seasons). With all the injuries and adversity we had, a lot of football teams would not have had the amount of success that this football team had." Knake added, "I think we did a good job under the circumstances."

"We played a good football game," said Sullivan. "It is obvious that they are one of the top four or five teams in the country."

Texas

"I thought our defense played awfully well, and we've been playing consistently well over the past few weeks," said Sullivan. Special recognition was given to Lenoy Jones, Tyrone Roy, Charles McWilliams, Godrey White, Rick LaFavers, Chris Staten, Cedric Allen, and Manvel Hopes.

On his decision to kick a field goal on 4th and inches from the Texas 6 yard line, Sullivan said, " it was a no brainer. You've got to take points when you can get 'em. You've got to get on top of them when you're the underdog and put the pressure on them."

Texas Tech

"It was probably as frustrating a day offensively as we've had. We weren't able to run it. We weren't able to throw it," said Sullivan.

"It doesn't matter if the offense never makes a first down. It's our job to stop them," said Chris Piland.

"I'm proud of this team. I don't know when I've seen a better defensive game than today," said Tech coach Spike Dykes.

"Pretty frustrating. It was almost like we couldn't do anything right," said Max Knake. "I didn't have much time back there today."

SMU

"I was very proud of our football team. With all of our injuries and distractions, they showed a lot of character and resilience in fighting back for the victory," said Sullivan.

Sullivan continued, "Now we desperately need to get most of our injured players healthy and ready to play this week, because against Texas Tech we are going to need every shot we have in our gun."

"I did not want to get caught," said LaFavers on his game saving interception return of an attempted SMU two-point conversion. "I focused on the goal line and ran as hard as I could. I knew I would score once I crossed midfield."

"I thought we had the two point conversion," said SMU's intended receiver Vaughn Dickerson. "The guy came from behind me, and I never saw him." "Somebody was in my face, and I never saw that guy until it was too late," added SMU's Derek Canine.

"Fast enough," said TCU's Sullivan when asked how fast is Rick LaFavers.

"Just another game . . . and we lost," said SMU coach Tom Rossley.
