Purpose of Mission
Purpose of the UCC Mission Trips to Honduras

Help UCC engage in global outreach ministries of compassion, reconciliation, unity and justice.
Help participants live out their faith and grow spiritually by sharing the Christian experience in a unique way.
Help participants understand that discipleship is global as well as local.
To affirm our need to share mutually and more fully our faith and our resources across the boundaries of racially and culturally diverse Church family with our ecumenical friends and global partners in Central America.
Share a portion of our own resources with those whose needs are far greater than our own.
Help participants see results of their outreach dollars for global relief organizations such as: Church World Services, CROP, and the CCD.

Give participants an opportunity to be involved in a hands-on mission experience.
Help participants develop a sensitivity to global issues.
Give participants an opportunity to become personally acquainted with life in an underdeveloped third-world country based on subsistence survival.
Educate participants about the impact that their own actions and decisions have on third-world countries.
Work with members of Christian Commission for Development (CCD) in their efforts to help rural Hondurans overcome the tremendous difficulties which exist in their country.
